How can I get a student visa?

Getting your student visa in one of the very last steps in the process. You won’t be able to do this on your own as you will need help from the university or college that you have chosen. Now, without going into too much detail, the university will basically act as your “visa sponsor”, meaning that they are the ones who need to prove to the US government that you will be a student at their institution. To be able to do that, the university will be asking you for several documents, such as the university application, your transcripts, your test scores, bank statements, and possibly even certain vaccines. Every university will ask for slightly different documents, but once they have received those from you, they will then be able to send you your I20 form, which is the form you need in order to be able to apply for your F1 student visa.

You will only be able to move forward with your visa application once you have received the I20, so no need to worry about anything until that moment. When you finally receive your I20 is when you should then start the process of applying for your F1 visa with the US immigration department. The very last step in the process will then be to book your visa interview appointment with the US embassy in your home country. And don’t forget to check your passport status prior, to make sure that your passport has not expired and that all your information in there is accurate and up to date.

This is just a quick rundown of the entire visa process. There are other parts to it and as mentioned above, the documents required by the universities vary from school to school.
