To those who don’t believe in college tennis being the right path…

As many of you have probably noticed over the past few years, college tennis has been on the rise! More and more young tennis players, both boys and girls, choose to go down the college route in order to prepare their professional careers. While there are several reasons for this recent development, there are some very obvious reasons for the increase in the number of professionals choosing this path. The level of competition, the coaching, the facilities, and everything that comes with the overall college experience, have proven to be tough to beat. This has lead to the fact that you find more and more former college tennis players among the top 100 of the ATP and WTA rankings. In this year’s Championships at Wimbledon, a new record was actually broken with a total of 35 former college players making it into the main draws, 26 on the men’s and 9 on the women’s side. On top of that, dozens more are participating in the doubles and mixed doubles tournaments, so it is definitely tough to deny that the college tennis route is working!
